The Third Promise

The Third Promise

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as He said through His holy prophets of long ago), salvation from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us— to show mercy to our ancestors and to remember his holy covenant, the oath he swore to our father Abraham"

From the very beginning, a divine master plan has been unfolding to prepare the world for a Savior who will transform man’s sinful condition. God’s instrument in this plan is a relatively obscure man by the name of Abraham. He makes an extraordinary covenant with this faithful servant, promising him that his descendants would become a great nation, He would give them a land of their own, and that through his seed all the people of the earth would be blessed. The third promise had remained unfulfilled for over 2000 years. All is now ready for the most important event in human history. It will mark the beginning of a dynamically new relationship between God and man. And so we have the fulfillment of the Third Promise……..the event is the coming of the Savior of the world, the MESSIAH!

Join Generation Excellent this Christmas season as we look at the promise of Christmas in a new light, exploring how the covenant God made with Abraham was fulfilled in the incarnation of God Himself.

Hope Changes Everything

Hope Changes Everything

"But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." ~ Isaiah 40:31

It has been said that the most dangerous person in the world is a person without hope. We live in a world filled with hopelessness. Is it any wonder that we see so many desperate acts of inhumanity? You may have heard the song that says “what the world needs now, is love sweet love…….” , but in all honesty, what we need is hope, blessed hope. If you are a Christian, your life has been changed forever because of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3 says “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively HOPE by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” Hope is real. Hope is secure, more than wishes or desires. Hope changes everything about how you and I live in this broken and needy world. We may suffer trials and tribulations, as a matter of fact, the Bible says we will; but, we can still live a joyous life for God, because of His immense love for us and the hope that he gives us through Jesus Christ. “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.”

Do you have this hope?

Generation Excellent is embarking on a new journey this year. Our new program is about bringing hope to a hopeless world. We all have something in common. We are all walking through, have walked through, or will walk through trials and tribulation. We want to share hope with you and encourage you in whatever trial you face, in whatever loss you grieve, in whatever pain you bear. Trust God, find rest in Him, take comfort………find hope!

Hope Changes Everything!

The Word Became Flesh

The Word Became Flesh

There is no way our human minds can grasp the reality of the incarnation and all it means. It is such a mysterious and awe-inspiring event that takes great faith and the help of the Holy Spirit for us to accept. Our program, "The Word Became Flesh" is not your typical Christmas program. It is not the re-telling of the Christmas story but a time of celebrating the Christ of Christmas - totally focusing on Jesus! Worshipping Him, for who He is and why He came. Come, celebrate and worship with us!

Legacy

Legacy

“Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren.” ~ Deut. 4:9

Every generation leaves behind its own legacy. It might be because of certain individuals or groups of people or the generation as a whole. We are all remembered for something, be it good or bad. But no matter what legacies the past holds, none of them should ever be forgotten. They are lessons, warnings, and inspirations we should always hold dear. It has been said, “If we forget what we did, we won’t know who we are.”

So, join us this year, as we remember some of the impactful legacies that have been left for us to pass on to our children and their children’s children. As we explore both the good – and the bad -- we hope to challenge each of you to consider the questions: “What kind of legacy do you want to leave behind?” “How do you want your generation to be remembered?” “Will it be the kind of legacy you can be proud of?” More important, "Will it be one that God will be pleased with?”

The Silence and the Sound

The Silence and the Sound

"But thou Bethlehem Ephratah though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of of old, from everlasting." ~ Micah 5:2

Make this Christmas more than just another Christmas. We’ve heard the Christmas story told so many times that perhaps it has become just commonplace to us. It holds no special place in our life. We never stop to contemplate the absolute wonder and mystery of why the God of the whole universe would so desire a relationship with us that He would leave the most glorious place imaginable and step into such a lowly place. Not as a conquering hero, stepping in to “save the day”, but He came as a tiny, innocent, vulnerable baby, born in a dingy, dirty cave, meant for animals! The “Silence and the Sound” is more than just a retelling of the Christmas story; it explores the mystery and the majesty of Christ’s birth. It is our hope that you will experience the awe of silence, the humility of Redemption, and the shout of joy during this Christmas season.

The Cost of Freedom

The Cost of Freedom

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed" John 8:36

Since its birth, this nation has faced many wars; from the war that gave us freedom from a tyrannical king, to a war which seek s to gain freedom from the fear of terrorists. The exact cause of each war can sometimes be difficult if not impossible to explain with precise straightforward explanations. But a common thread that ties each war together and compels men and women to give their all is the cause of freedom. The freedom you enjoy today came at great cost and much blood has been spilled in order to preserve it. Our program this year highlights a few of those wars that impacted our nation and seeks to remind you of The Cost of Freedom. It is our wish to pay tribute to those who sacrificed so much for us in service to our country. But, our primary objective is to recognize that we as Christians fight a battle with Satan and his evil attacks every day; however, we can rejoice in the fact that our Lord Jesus Christ has won the war for us. Through His supreme sacrifice He has bought and paid for us to have the ULTIMATE freedom.

Freedom!

Freedom!

Deep within every heart there is the desire for freedom. We are all equal, created by God, to be free! Unfortunately, all through history there have been those who have sought to rob us of that very basic God given right. Those who have gone before us would have rather died than to live without freedom. They knew what it is like to have that freedom taken away. We’re so used to having freedom in America we take it for granted. We can lose our freedom in a heartbeat, if we get lazy and stop caring. Many continue to pay the price for freedom. But, when it comes to ultimate freedom, the ultimate price has already been paid. Because of this we embrace the cross of Jesus Christ – that wooden banner of our soul’s liberation. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36

Freedom, in any form, whether national or eternal, demands a response. And in response, we offer our allegiance, our life, our all. To the Giver of life, the Author of liberty, we pledge ourselves – honored by and grateful for FREEDOM!

Emmanuel, God With Us

Emmanuel, God With Us

".......They shall call His name Emmanuel…….which being interpreted is, God with us." Matt. 1:23

What a promise! If you’ve ever experienced a “season of silence” from God, then you understand the magnitude of that statement. It had been over 400 years since the people of this earth had heard from God, now that’s a season of silence! Because of Jesus birth, death, and resurrection, we have the gift of God indwelling in us. However, there are many who have yet to receive that gift. I cannot imagine the hopelessness and desperation a person must feel who does not have Emmanuel in their life. The gift of God’s presence is ours for the taking. We have hope, joy, and forgiveness because of that gift. This is why we celebrate Christmas!

This is a message that everyone needs to hear and it is our desire to deliver that message to you! Come, worship, and rejoice as we present Emmanuel, God is with US!!!
